Over the years, Fearnley has established a long-standing relationship with all reputable shipyards worldwide. We are continually involved in all stages of negotiations for various newbuilding projects and carry on a constant dialogue with both shipbuilders and ship owners. This has enabled Fearnley to maintain strong relationships with all the relevant shipyards. Our presence and good standing with the yards has given us considerable commercial insight that we believe will benefit ship owners’ project negotiations with any shipyard, as yards worldwide recognize and respect our knowledge and expertise in both technical and commercial matters.
Fearnley has a strong presence world-wide and we are continually performing due diligence and monitoring, which enables us to present and recommend the most qualified yards and construction sites for each client’s particular newbuilding project.
As part of our services we share our knowledge and expertise, as well as our lessons learned, to facilitate the newbuilding tender process. This expertise covers all technical, commercial, and contractual matters and allows us to act as an extension of our client’s newbuilding team.

Sale and purchase
One of our core activities is intermediating the sale and purchase of vessels and special tonnage connected to the fishery and aquaculture industry. Our core strategy is to utilize our network and market overview to connect relevant players securing confidentiality until the transaction is complete. While keeping the shipowner credentials confidential, we scan the market for potential tonnage securing a flawless transaction.
Special projects
Fearnley have extensive experience assisting owners in a wide range of special projects. Stretching from large offshore floating and jack-up structures to large steel hull structures, and to the worlds first offshore fish farming projects. We have been heavily involved in several pioneering offshore fish farming projects in recent years, which now pave the way for future offshore fish farming. In these projects we have assisted the owners in project development from conceptional phase to project executions. We possess at all times up-to-date information on the prevailing yard capacities and their interest and experience in construction of offshore units and other special projects. Our network also allow us to negotiate and take responsibility for transportation of such projects to final site. Through our experience with contracts for special projects, we know which of the contractual elements are most important for the owner’s rights and benefits during construction, after delivery and during the warranty period. We also know what can be expected and achieved under these elements.
Vessel valuation
We have concluded numerous sale transactions and have a comprehensive list of clients worldwide. To service shipowners, banks and financial institutions we provide vessel valuations and possess detailed historical data on fluctuations in values of vessels. Our track record includes transactions of all types of fishery and aquaculture vessels.
Chartering
We work very close with owners and fish farmers, endeavoring to secure the optimal vessel to meet the farmers requirements. The work scope includes spot, long term, and bareboat charters of all types of aquaculture vessels. We possess a detailed and comprehensive know-how and expertise of the aquaculture market adding value to our customers’ chartering requirements.
